Constructing Smart Class Rooms and Modern Computer Labs for 200 Schools in Galle District with the assistance of the Republic of India

- Having found the timely requirement of granting children a fair access to qualitative education opportunities mixed with modern technological aspects in order to minimize the gaps of digital technology, the Government of India has agreed to grant a financial assistance of Rs.300 million to construct Smart Class Rooms and Modern Computer Labs for 200 Schools in Galle District as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding on 'High Impact Community Development Projects'. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to sign the a Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of India and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to obtain the said grant assistance, was approved by the Cabinet.
