Identifying as a Strategic Development Project, the Project to develop software and to provide IT related services for Export Market - HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt.) Limited

- HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt.) Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of HCL Technologies in India. The said Company has signed an agreement with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) on 08‑01‑2020 to implement a project for software development and provide information technology related services with an investment of US$ 10.5 million, creating employment opportunities for 2,450 Sri Lankans and 1,050 foreigners. The commercial operations of the Project have commenced on 2020‑10‑29. The said Company has made a request to identify the relevant project which falls under the Strategic Development Projects Act and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka has agreed with the said request. As such, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Economic Policies & Plan Implementation to identify the above project that has been commenced by HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt.) Limited, as a project under the Strategic Development Projects Act, No.14 of 2008, was approved by the Cabinet.
