Acquisition of lands to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) for the Colombo Lotus Tower Project Complex

- The construction activities of the Lotus Tower project are near full completion by now and necessary action is being taken by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) to plan its commercial and operational activities. It has been identified that the development activities should be further carried out such as construction of a state‑of‑the‑art water show on Beira Lake closer to the Lotus Tower to attract local and foreign spectators (visitors), setting up food outlets, construction of offices, accommodation and infrastructure facilities in the premises for the staff members expected to be employed in the said Tower and further expansion of the car park that has already been planned. Accordingly, the proposal made by H. E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Technology to vest the block of land of 4 acres 3 roods 24.47 perches in extent located in the proximity of the project premises, belonging to the Urban Development Authority (UDA), with the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka for carrying out the said development activities, was approved by the Cabinet.
