The Recovery of Possession of the Premises Given on Lease (Special Provisions) Act

- Considering the key areas such as renting out a premises, development of the premises given on rent basis and its impact on the economy of the country in general, the Rent Law Advisory Committee, appointed by the Minister of Justice has prepared an initial draft for the enactment of laws for the recovery of possession of the premises given on lease, expeditiously. The enactment of new law would prevent the prolonged delays of law in the cases related to ordinary rent and and ejectment action under regular procedure and grant relief to the lessor within a very short period. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice to instruct the Legal Draftsman, to draft legislation for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
