Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2021-09-27

Allocating the land called Weheragoda Watte located in Weeraketiya Divisional Secretariat Division in the Hambantota District to Sri Jinarathana Educational Institute for Agricultural Vocational Trainings, on lease basis

- The land called Weheragoda Watte of 131 acres 2 roods and 29 perches in extent located in the Weeraketiya Divisional Secretariat Division of Hambantota District has been vested with the Land Reform Commission. The Board of Management of Sri Jinarathana Educational Institute has made a request to grant the above land which contains a barren coconut plantation with no proper maintenance to be utilized for agricultural vocational trainings. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Lands to grant the above land to the Board of Management of Sri Jinarathana Educational Institute, on lease basis for a period of 30 years, was approved by the Cabinet.
