Establishment of a Board of Trustees for the maintenance and administrative activities of Sandahiru Seya Stupa

- The Sandahiru Seya Stupa, 282 feet and 6 inches in height, is being erected in Anuradapura sacred area under the overall supervision of the Ministry of Defence in commemoration of war heroes and civilians who sacrificed their lives to end terrorism which prevailed over 30 years and to invoke merit for them. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to appoint a Board of Trustees for the maintenance and administrative activities of this Stupa, after completing its constructions and to establish a charitable trust to accumulate and maintain the donations made by local and foreign devotees for the Stupa, was approved by the Cabinet.
