Transfer of the ownership of the land belonging to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority located at Aluth Mawatha, Colombo 15 to the Ceylon Shipping Corporation Limited (CSC)

- Ceylon Shipping Corporation Limited, in the year 1979 has purchased a plot of land located at 18th lane, Aluth Mawatha, Colombo 15, belonging to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, having paid the then estimated value of the land to the Port Commission. In the year 1982, at the expense of the Ceylon Shipping Corporation, 05 apartments were constructed in the said land and out of which 03 apartments have been used by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority whereas remaining 02 apartments have been used by the Ceylon Shipping Corporation. Although Ceylon Shipping Corporation Limited had paid the government estimated value for the said land, the possession of the said land has not been legally transferred. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports and Shipping to transfer the said plot of land of 29.53 perches to Ceylon Shipping Corporation limited, was approved by the Cabinet.
