Galle Port Development Project

- Development of Galle port has been found vital on the theme “tourist destination and safe haven” so as to maintain it as a regional commercial port. Accordingly, the Ministry of Ports and Shipping has planned to implement a project to develop Galle port under public-private partnership, without restricting traditional port services but attracting investments from the private sector. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports and Shipping to take necessary action to implement the said project as proposed, was approved by the Cabinet.
