Implementation of an Action Plan for the years 2022-2024 under the Memorandum of Understanding for the Agricultural Development Cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam

- Sri Lanka and Vietnam have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding in 2006, in order to promote mutual cooperation in the field of agriculture. In terms of the provisions of the said agreement, the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Department of Vietnam and Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy should formulate an action plan on the concurrence of both parties and implement the same. Accordingly, action plans have been formulated and implemented for the years 2010-2011 and 2017-2019. Taking into consideration the importance of agricultural cooperation between the two countries, a new action plan has also been formulated for the year 2022-2024, on mutual consultation of both parties. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture, to implement the said action plan and to sign for the said agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
