Implementing Four (04) Projects on Pollution Control

- The Institutions and organizations such as the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation - NORAD, Specific International Programme belonging to Minamata Convention, the United Nations Environmental Development Programme (UNDP), the Government of Switzerland and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have agreed to provide funds required for the implementation of four (04) projects in the field of environmental pollution and chemical management, in the year 2021 as two project proposals for plastic waste management covered by the Basel Convention and as two project proposals for making guidelines and awareness pertaining to the mercury management covered by Minamata Convention. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Environment to implement the said projects and to enter into the relevant Agreements, for the same, was approved by the Cabinet.
