Construction of Elevated Expressway from New Kelani Bridge to Athurugiriy Interchange of Outer Circular Expressway Via Rajagiriya - Obtaining Consultancy Services for Monitoring the Construction and Maintenance

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2021‑05‑24, has granted approval to award the contract for constructing the above Expressway on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis, to the M/s China Harbour Engineering Corporation. Accordingly, the relevant Expressway is to be constructed within 03 years. An independent Engineer is required to be appointed for monitoring the constructions and maintenance to ensure the standard of the proposed Expressway and completion of the constructions within the stipulated time frame. The Road Development Authority should function as the Employer of the said consultancy company. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Highways to take necessary action to select a suitable Institution for the same, following the formal procurement process, was approved by the Cabinet.
