Further extension of the benefits under the Agrahara Insurance Scheme, which is being implemented for the retired Public Officers
- Provisions have been made under the existing Agrahara Insurance Scheme to provide benefits to those who retired from the Public Service after 01‑01‑2016, until they reach the age of 70. Approval of the Cabinet was granted at its meeting held on 2020‑07‑22 to amend the Agrahara Insurance Scheme, enabling to provide the relevant benefits also to those who have retired from the Public Service prior to the said date. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government to implement the Agrahara Insurance Scheme making applicable to all those who have retired from the Public Service, further widening the existing benefits, was approved by the Cabinet.
