Amendment to the Voluntary Social Service Organizations (Registration & Supervision) Act, No. 31 of 1980

- It has been observed that the provisions of the existing Voluntary Social Service Organizations (Registration & Supervision) Act, No. 31 of 1980 for the registration of voluntary services are inadequate for the present requirements. Accordingly, the Cabinet having taken into consideration the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, decided to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare a Bill to enable to introduce new Act to suit with the present day needs in place of the Voluntary Social Service Organizations (Registration & Supervision) Act, No. 31 of 1980.
