Commencing a national broadcasting channel for primary, secondary, higher education and tertiary education

- The Ministry of Education together with the Ministry of Mass Media has planned to commence a broadcasting channel to address the anomalies emerged in the field of education due to the social distancing caused by the Covid - 19 pandemic situation, so as to cover the entire island. Since it takes a considerable period of time to get completed the required infrastructure facilities for the purpose, the joint proposal made by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Mass Media to utilize one of the channels of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation covering the entire country so as to commence a broadcasting channel dedicated for education, was approved by the Cabinet.
