Entering into a Joint Agreement between the University of Ruhuna, University of Jaffna, National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) and UiT the Arctic University of Norway

- UiT the Arctic University of Norway implements the Project of ''Innovative Network in Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Science'' under the financial contribution of the Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Co‑operation. The University of Ruhuna, University of Jaffna and the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) have been recognized as local partners of the said project. Accordingly, it has been proposed to enter into a Joint Agreement between UiT the Arctic University of Norway and the said Institutions for implementing the said project. Under this Agreement, it is expected to implement scholarship programmes for the benefit of both parties through a collaborative partnership between UiT the Arctic University of Norway and local institutions, maintain student and staff exchange programmes and promote international understanding. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Education, to enter into the proposed Joint Agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
