Entering into an Agreement between the University of Colombo and the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom for a Research Project to Explore the Global Spectrum on Science and Religion

- In view of creating an expanded dialogue on the nexus between Science, Evolution and Religion among professional scientists and the general public and exploring the historical, cultural, social and psychological factors affecting the public opinion on the said elements, the University of Colombo has been selected as a partner of the research project on 'Science and Religion: Exploring the Spectrum of Global Perspectives' conducted under the financial provisions of the Religious Fund named 'Templeton Religious Trust'. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education, to enter into a Joint Agreement with the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, which is its main partner, to implement the said research project, was approved by the Cabinet.
