Providing a plot of land from Millewa, Horana to the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation of Sri Lanka, on Lease Basis

- Since the existing space in the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation of Sri Lanka is not sufficient for increasing the capacity of the said Corporation, the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation of Sri Lanka has made a request to the Urban Development Authority (UDA) to provide a plot of land to establish five (05) production facilities and expand its manufacturing activities. Accordingly, the Board of Management of the Urban Development Authority has given its concurrence to allocate a plot of land in extent of 65 acres 17.66 perches out of the block of land 732 acres in extent, which has been acquired from Millewa area for the Horana Industrial Township Project. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development & Housing, to provide the relevant plot of land to the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation of Sri Lanka on long‑term lease basis upon the said agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
