Accelerating land acquisition for identified Irrigation Development Projects

- Approval of the Cabinet was granted at its meeting held on 2021‑02‑01 to adopt the 'LARC' and 'SUPER LARC' system to pay compensation for the lands acquired for Government purposes, until appropriate amendments are to be introduced to the Land Acquisition Act. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Irrigation to calculate and pay compensation adopting the 'LARC' and 'SUPERLARC' system to the relevant owners for the lands to be acquired for the implementation of the drinking and irrigated water supply projects in the Northern, North Central, Central, North Western and Eastern provinces identified as prioritized projects, was approved by the Cabinet.
