Agreement on Co-operation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

- Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have agreed to enter into an agreement on co‑operation and mutual administrative assistance in Customs matters with the objectives of accurate assessment of Customs Duty and other taxes, ensuring the proper enforcement of prohibitions, restrictions and measures of control by the Customs administration in respect of specific goods and effective enforcement of Customs Laws against Customs offences. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance to sign the proposed agreement between the two countries, was approved by the Cabinet.
