National Level media programme to make aware of the importance of production and use of organic and natural fertilizer

- The Government has taken a policy decision to utilize organic and natural fertilizer for agricultural purposes instead of using chemical fertilizer. Therefore, it has been found necessary to launch an accelerated awareness programme to make understand the actual situation to the farmers and other parties who believe in chemical fertilizer as the only alternative to increase crop production, to widen the knowledge of the farmers on the use of organic fertilizer and to inspire the promotion of organic and natural fertilizer as well as environmental friendly programmes. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture to implement awareness programmes through the use of audio, video, printed and digital media to make aware the youths including the farmer community and other relevant stakeholders, was approved by the Cabinet.
