Amendments to the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No.9 of 2003

- The Cabinet, at its meeting held on 2018‑09‑03 granted approval to draft a Bill to amend the Consumer Affairs Authority Act. Accordingly, the Attorney General has pointed out the need to formalize the draft Bill so prepared. Moreover, the Ministry of Trade has identified the provisions required to be incorporated further to thesaid Bill as per the present day needs. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Trade to take necessary action to get prepared the said draft Bill by the Legal Draftsman, incorporating the identified provisions, was approved by the Cabinet.
