Sale of essential food items which are not released from the Port and confiscated by the Sri Lanka Customs, to the general public at a concessionary price by Lanka Sathosa Ltd.

- A system to provide essential food items to the general public at an affordable price without any shortage under the prevailing COVID‑19 pandemic situation is already implemented by Lanka Sathosa Ltd. As such, the joint proposal made by the Minster of Trade and the Minister of Ports & Shipping to take necessary action to provide the essential food items confiscated by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the Sri Lanka Customs to Lanka Sathosa Ltd., enabling to further maintain the said System effectively, was approved by the Cabinet.
