Hundred Cities Beautification Project

- Certain second and third order towns located all over the country keep to be unpleasant and disorderly towns that are oppressive for the public due to the haphazard development and those towns can be converted into people friendly and pleasant towns by taking action in keeping with an organized plan and a programme. Therefore, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing for the implementation of a programme called “Siyak Nagara” with the assistance of all the Government sector institutions and all other parties entrusted with the supply of infrastructure facilities for the purpose of orderly beautification of 100 such recognized cities located all over the island by enhancing their initial facilities, through the Urban Development Authority, was approved by the Cabinet.
