Granting “Guru Abhimani” allowance for pre-school teachers

- The Government National Policy Framework “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor” has identified pre-school teachers as significant stakeholders of human resources development and has paid special attention on giving them a certain training and providing a permanent allowance. Accordingly, it has been identified that it is appropriate to increase the allowance of Rs.250/= presently being paid to pre-school teachers up to Rs.2500/=. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to increase the present allowance of Rs.250/= to Rs.2500/= for eligible pre-school teachers under identified criteria to be effective 2021‑06‑01 and provide the said allowance to 25,000 pre-school teachers as its first phase, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
