Purchase of Sinopharm and Oxford-AstraZeneca (OAZ) Vaccines

- The required quantity of vaccines has to be obtained at the earliest in the circumstances where there is no other remedy to combat the COVID - 19 pandemic other than vaccination. The Government has planned to vaccinate 60 % - 70% of the overall population by the end of this year. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to take necessary action to purchase 14 million doses of Sinopharm Vaccine from the relevant manufacturer of China and 1 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine expeditiously, was approved by the Cabinet.
