Introducing Guidelines for COVID-19 Emergency Procurement Procedure (CEPP)

- Due to the prevailing COVID‑19 situation, it has been recognized the need for simplifying the existing procurement procedure to procure the essential items required for the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defence and the State Ministries within the purview of the said Ministries related to the health sector, without delay. As such, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance to amend the existing operational procurement procedure and issue new guidelines enabling to purchase vaccines, medical equipment, other medical requirements and essential items expeditiously, was approved by the Cabinet.
