Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2021-05-17

Vesting a land belonging to the Department of Irrigation to the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo

- The Department of Irrigation has extended its concurrence to transfer a land in extent of 0.1765 hectares located at No.330 of Dr.N.M Perera Road, Colombo 08, to the Institute of Indigenous Medicine. The Board of Management of the said Institute has decided to construct a multi-purpose building complex with 08 stories comprised of a clinical skills development laboratory and study hall, an indigenous food processing training centre with a restaurant and concurrence of the Urban Development Authority has been given for the purpose. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to transfer the said land to the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, was approved by the Cabinet.
