Amendment to the Firearms Ordinance, No.33 of 1916 (Chapter 182) amended by the Act, No.22 of 1996

Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at its meeting held on 2007 06 13 to draft a Bill for further amending the Firearms Ordinance, No.33 of 1916 (Chapter 182) as last amended by the Act, No.22 of 1996. However, drafting of the said Bill has been delayed due to amendments proposed from time to time. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft a Bill incorporating all the relevant amendments to meet the present requirements, was approved by the Cabinet.
