Procurement of Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Commissioning and handing over of a Single Sleeper Multiple Tie Tamping Machine for the Department of Sri Lanka Railways

With a view to enhancing the maintenance capacity of the Department of Sri Lanka Railways and reducing the maintenance cost, International Competitive Bids have been called for manufacturing and handing over of a Single Sleeper Multiple Tie Tamping Machine. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Transport to award the relevant procurement to M/s Matisa Matériel Industriel S.A. - Switzerland, for a sum of US$ 4.96 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
