Allocation of land blocks from Regional Industrial Estates to set up industries

The Regional Industrial Services Committee and the Project Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Industries have recommended the allocation of 16 land blocks in the 09 Industrial Estates of Nalanda (Matale), Bataatha, Karandeniya, Udukawa, Embilipitiya, Kalutara, Batticaloa and Nawagampura, for investors to start up new industries. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries to allocate the said land blocks on 35 year lease basis and subject to the condition of 'not transferable to other parties' and other relevant conditions, was approved by the Cabinet.
