'e-Grama Niladari' Project

The e-Grama Niladari (eGN) Project is implemented to formulate a database to store and search information required to day today duties pertaining to the services rendered by the Grama Niladaris to the general public. As per the outcome of a pilot project implemented in 162 Grama Niladari Divisions in 04 Divisional Secretariat Divisions during 2016 and 2017, the approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously to implement the same in 7000 Grama Niladari Divisions as the Phase II of the said project. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to implement the said project by the State Ministry of Home Affairs with the consultancy support of the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), was approved by the Cabinet.
