Cremation Ceremony of the late , Most Venerable Kotugoda Dammawansa Thero, Maha Nayake Thero of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya”

- The Cabinet approved the proposal made by H.E the president to declare a Day of National Mourning on 2021‑03‑25 the date of conducting the cremation ceremony of late Dharmapala Wansalankara Saddharma Keerthi Sri, Thripitaka Visharadha Pravachana Keerthi Sri, Sasana Shobhana, Sri Sumangala Vidyawathansa, Aggamaha Panditha Most Venerable Mahopadyaya Kotugoda Dammawasa Thero, Maha Nayake Thero of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya, and close the slaughterhouses and meat and fish shops in the Colombo district where the cremation ceremony is conducted treating the day as a day of mourning and to close liquor shops as well, considering the great service rendered to the nation and the religion by late Thero.
