Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the field of Higher Education between the Ministry of Education of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Higher Education Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

- It has been proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Higher Education Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in order to implement an Educational and Scientific Knowledge Exchange Scholarship Programme in the field of higher education for a period of five years, enabling to strengthen mutual corporation in the field of education and to enhance the educational opportunities between two countries. The Government of Pakistan has agreed to grant 1000 Scholarships as 800 Full Scholarships and 200 Tuition Fee Waiver Partial Scholarships for undergraduate degrees under this MoU within the relevant period. Further, it is expected to exchange 50 Sri Lankan/Pakistan University Faculty members between two countries for research, seminars and other academic activities for a specific period of time. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to sign the said MoU, was approved by the Cabinet.
