Establishment of a new company to direct local products to foreign markets

- On a concept of the State Ministry of Batik, Handloom Fabric and Local Apparel Productions, it has been found the necessity of setting up a leading institution to promote Sri Lankan products by establishing overseas showrooms thereby creating a strong international trade network through the selected representatives from those countries. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries to establish a new company with 100% shares of Lanka Salusala Limited for the purpose and to implement a programme to promote local products including Batik products, Handloom Fabric products, and local apparel products through the foreign agents appointed by the said company and showrooms, was approved by the Cabinet.
