Continuation of Inter-Provincial Passenger bus operations in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic

- Approval has been granted by the Cabinet at its meeting held on 2020‑11‑09 to release the permit renewal fees, late fees, tender fees, log fees, entrance fees and Expressway Temporary Permit fees which are charged from bus operators until the end of year 2020, in order to continue the Inter-Provincial Passenger bus operations in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. As it seems that it may take more time for bus operations to return to normal condition, the proposal made by the Minister of Transport to provide the following reliefs out of those mentioned above, further up to 2021‑03‑31, was approved by the Cabinet.

* Charging a 10% of the annual tender fee or a sum of Rs.15,000/-, whichever is higher out of them.

* Charging a 10% of the Expressway Temporary Permit Fee.

* Exemption from log and entrance fees.
