Establishment of the 'National Management and Regulatory Committee on Early Childhood Education'

- In terms of the existing legal framework, the Early Childhood Education System of Sri Lanka is steered under the coordination of several institutional layers belonging to the Central Government and Provincial Councils and the need for empowering the process of maintaining and monitoring the standards of the field at national level, has been recognized. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to appoint a Committee titled as the 'National Management and Regulatory Committee on Early Childhood Education' comprising the field experts and decision-making officials, to regulate, monitor and provide guidance for Pre-schools, Early Childhood Development Centres and Day Care Centres at national level, was approved by the Cabinet.
