Establishing the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs and the institutions falling under its purview, in one dedicated building

- Since the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs and the Departments and Institutions under its purview are being maintained at different locations, need has arisen to establish the Ministry and the said institutions in one dedicated building. The 09 storeyed building being constructed for the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs at D. R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10 has been identified suitable for this purpose. As such, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs to transfer the said building and the land on which it is located, to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs and to complete its construction activities thereafter and, establish the Ministry and all institutions under its purview in the said building, was approved by the Cabinet.
