Accreditation of the National Defence College under the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University

- Approval has been granted by the Cabinet at its meeting held on 18‑12‑2019 to draft the 'Sri Lanka National Defence College Act' for the purpose of incorporating the 'National Defence College' through a Parliamentary Act. The academic activities of the College are to commence in May, 2021 and the above Act will provide the legal provisions required for awarding the ndc qualification to the students who complete a full-time course of 11 months successfully. Many countries around the world, through their National Defence Colleges, offer MSc or MPhil degrees in affiliation with the National Universities. As such, taking into consideration this matter, the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to accredit the National Defence College under the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, to enable the University to offer Postgraduate degrees to the students who are taking the course at the National Defence College, was approved by the Cabinet.
