Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Principals Service

- At present, there are 4,600 vacancies in Grades I, II and III of the Sri Lanka Principals Service and it has been observed that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation prevailing in the country, it will take more than one year to conduct a competitive examination and structured interviews for the purpose of granting formal appointments. Taking into consideration these matters, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to take necessary action to conduct a structured interview in place of a competitive examination to select the qualified persons and appoint them to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Principals Service, limiting it only to this occasion, providing the opportunity to the qualified officers belonging to the Teachers Service who have been acting and covering the duties in the post of Principal for a long period and also to the other officers belonging to the Teachers Service who fulfill qualifications in terms of the Service Minute, was approved by the Cabinet.
