Repealing sections 285, 286 and 286A of the Penal Code

- Approval has been granted at the Cabinet Meeting held on 2020‑09‑29 to draft a Bill on Prohibition of Obscene Publications. Upon passing the said Bill, the Obscene Publications Ordinance of 1927 will be repealed and at the same time, sections 285, 286 and 286A of the Penal Code will be redundant. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice to draft a Bill for repealing the said sections of the Penal Code, was approved by the Cabinet.
