Repealing the Youth Corps Act and establishment of the Youth Corps as an Authority

- Approval has been granted at the Cabinet Meeting held on 2011‑12‑15 to repeal the Youth Corps Act, No.21 of 2002 and draft a Bill for the establishment of the Youth Corps Authority. Although the Legal Draftsman has accordingly drafted a Bill, no further action has been taken in this regard. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Youth & Sports to instruct the Legal Draftsman to finalise drafting the said Bill incorporating the further amendments to be made to enable to repeal the Youth Corps Act, No.21 of 2002 and to establish the Youth Corps Authority, was approved by the Cabinet.
