Agreement on Co-operation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matter between Sri Lanka and Turkey

- Sri Lanka has already entered into agreements with several selected trade partnership countries including India, Pakistan and China on co‑operation and mutual administrative assistance in Customs matters. A proposal has been made to enter into a similar agreement between Sri Lanka and Turkey with the objective of facilitating for legitimate trade through transparent and predictable procedures, reducing trade cost between the two countries and combating the illicit traffic of narcotic drugs. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance for signing the relevant Agreement between the two parties, was approved by the Cabinet.
