Pilot Project for distribution of eco-friendly organic fertilizer - distribution of fertilizer for paddy cultivation in Yala Season 2021

- A pilot project has been implemented for providing organic fertilizer and and organic liquid fertilizer free of charge to the farmers in selected districts with a view to promoting the use of eco- friendly organic fertilizer during the Yala Season 2020 and Maha Season 2020/21. It should be cultivated at least 04 Seasons under the same methodology to determine the productivity of the said pilot project. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture to continue the said pilot project in the Yala Season - 2021 as well and to appoint a Negotiating Committee to purchase necessary organic fertilizer and organic liquid fertilizer from Licensed Fertilizer Manufactures based on the recommendations made by the Fertilizer Advisory Committee and to provide the selected farmers in the relevant Districts with fertilizer in line with the recommendations of the said Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
