COVID - 19 Vaccine Programme

- The Ministry of Health has planned to vaccinate 14 million people of the total population of the country against the COVID-19 pandemic. Accordingly, the following proposals made by the Acting Minister of Health, were approved by the Cabinet.

• to sign the Standardized Indemnification Agreement forwarded by the COVAX mechanism, enabling to obtain the COVID - 19 Vaccine under the COVAX facility expeditiously.

• to purchase 10 million doses of Oxford AstraZenceca Vaccine from the Serum Institute Life Sciences Private Limited as a direct procurement at a sum of US$ 52.5 million, by the Sri Lanka State Pharmaceuticals Corporation.

• to enter into an Agreement by the Sri Lanka State Pharmaceuticals Corporation to purchase 3.5 million doses of COVID - 19 Vaccines manufactured by the AstraZeneca Institute of Great Britain.
