Removal of scrap metals in the Kankesanthurai Cement Factory Premises

- Preliminary plans have been made by the Ministry of Industries to launch a Cement Manufacturing Project at the Kankesanthurai Cement Factory premises. Accordingly, a Five -Member Committee has been appointed to conduct a site inspection and make recommendations relating to the removal of scrap metals and cleaning of the said factory premises. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries as recommended by the said Committee to remove the unusable buildings, structures, machinery, scrap metals and steel at the Kankesanthurai Cement Factory Premises, by following the Government Procurement Procedure, based on the valuation made by the Chief Government Valuer, was approved by the Cabinet.
