The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Mutual Cooperation between Diplomatic Academies / Training Institutions of BIMSTEC Member States

- The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) has been established in the year 1997 as a forum to further enhance the cooperation within the region of the Bay of Bengal. At present, seven (07) countries including Sri Lanka are members of this organisation. It has been proposed to enter into an MoU on Mutual Corporation between Diplomatic Academies / Training Institutions by the member countries. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Foreign Minister to adopt the proposed MoU at the 05th BIMSTEC Summit scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in early of this year, was approved by the Cabinet.
