Hosting 55th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting in Sri Lanka in 2022

- Approval of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank has been received to hold its 55th Annual Meeting in Colombo. This meeting would be attended by approximately 3000-4000 participants including more than 30 Ministers of Finance, Governors of Central Banks from member countries, Chief Executives of major global banks and companies and other local and international dignitaries and media personnel. The proposed meeting is scheduled to be held for 04 days from 2022‑05‑02 to 2022‑05‑05 and a number of other meetings and functions related to this are to be held parallel to the said meeting. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, to make necessary arrangements to host the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank in May, 2022 in Sri Lanka and to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) relevant to this with the Asian Development Bank, was approved by the Cabinet.
