Appointing new members to the National Border Management Committee

- ''The National Border Management Committee'' has been established to function as the focal point within the Government responsible for assessing high level risks and setting priorities and goals on all aspects of border management in Sri Lanka. Heads of the other institutions involved in the border management have been appointed as the ex-officio members of this Committee under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Ministry of Defence. The proposal made by H.E the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to appoint the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, one of the important entity in the boarder management, the Chief of Defence Staff who have been entrusted the coordination activities among Tri Forces and the Ministry of Defence, and the Secretary to the Ministry in-charge of the subject of Fisheries as members of the said Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
