Proposed Port related logistics sector development in Bloemandhal Area

- Sri Lanka Ports Authority has identified the urgent necessity of developing the logistics facilities of Colombo Port to meet the growing demand with efficiency to enhance the competitiveness of the Port. Accordingly, Sri Lanka Ports Authority intends to establish a state of art Port related logistics sector in Bloemandhal Area. As the first stage of the said programme, it is scheduled to establish a large warehouse complex for Less than Container Load (LCL), Full Container Load (FCL), Multi Country Consolidation (MCC), cold storage facility, entrepot cargo handling and other port related logistics activities. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports and Shipping to take necessary action to call for Request for Proposals to identify a suitable investor/ investors to implement the proposed project on Build, Operate, Transfer basis as a Public Private Partnership Project, was approved by the Cabinet.
