Obtaining consultancy services for planning of construction of Courts

- In the light of administration of justice, a large number of cases are pending before the courts in Sri Lanka and as a relief for the said issue, action is being taken to increase the number of Judges. The other facilities of courts are to be met concurrently and it has been planned to construct 100 new court houses island‑wide within the next 3 years. Under this plan, it has also been planned to construct multi‑storey court buildings and to improve the existing buildings. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice, to obtain the required consultancy services from the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) which is fully fledged with experience in constructing court buildings, for the implementation of the said project, was approved by the Cabinet.
